27-04-2006 Pleshcheyevo Ozero, Russky Sever, Meshchyora National Parks
The Pleshcheyevo Ozero National Park is located 130 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road, or MKAD, along Yaroslavskoye Shosse. Several buses a day run from Shchyolkovskaya metro station to Pereslavl-Zalessky or stop there on the way to Yaroslavl and Kostroma. Another option is to take the elektrichka from Yaroslavsky Station to Sergiyev Posad or Berendeyevo, then take a bus to Pereslavl-Zalessky.
The Russky Sever National Park is located 600 kilometers from the MKAD along Yaroslavskoye Shosse. The best way to get there is to take the Murmansk or any other north-bound train from Yaroslavsky Station as far as Vologda (an eight-hour ride) can arrange a bus pickup.
To get to Meshchyora National Park, drive to Vladimir along Gorkovskoye Shosse (180 kilometers) and from there to Gus-Khrustalny (90 kilometers). Alternatively, take a bus from Shchyolkovskaya metro station to Gus-Khrustalny (four or five per day; 100 rubles), then take a local bus from Gus-Khrustalny to Urshelsky. A third option is to take an elektrichka from Kazansky Station to Cherusti (several per day; about 3 hours), then take a local train from Cherusti to Murom or Vekovka (about 25 minutes).
